Time wasting games
What are the top 5 most fun video games you’ve ever played? Im not talking about the best, newest or groundbreaking games, im talking about video games that you’ve spent hours upon hoursplaying. A game you have played for fun and a game you’ve just played out of habit, you look up from the screen and ask why the fuck am I still playing this? But you go back to it in the future. The type of game that you cheat at but keep playing just for fun, you already beat it for real, why not go back use some cheat codes and fuck shit up. I’ll start.
First off I never played snake or candy crush so those two wont be on my list even though they may be on yours. In no order-
Tony hawk’s pro skater 3. For you this could be any Tony Hawk game because there are like 50 of them but there are some things all 50 of them have in common. GREAT soundtracks, every one of these games has a soundtrack you could listen to in your car, which makes getting lost in a game that you’ve already beaten very easy and fun. Also you can beat each game while leaving room for improvement. You can beat the level while still having room to do more tricks, find more skate tapes and explore each setting in depth after a win. Lastly all the Hawks that ive played have hidden achievements that don’t matter for game play but just give you a little something extra to do, that means a ton for replayability.
Starcraft OG. Im talking the original StarCraft. What makes this game so replayable is its movie like storyline and the AMAZING cheats you can use at any turn. No more cowbell, show me the money, operation sheep something? I don’t remember all the codes but I know they are still on the internet. Playing as humans and using cheat codes to SLAUGHTER evil alien forces is fun as hell but you want to know what’s even better? Using cheat codes to destroy good alien forces, fuck you protos, your un-maned protection structures are too powerful.
I had to pick a first person shooter to put on the list and for my money im taking Perfect Dark. Selecting Perfect dark might show my age a little but Perfect Dark was the first shooter gamer with NPC (non player characters) that you could kill in a multiplayer setting. It was the first time me and my buddy luke could try to kill 6 computer characters; them against us, people vs computers. Before that we always had to be on opposite teams so this one was a game changer. For you it might be Halo or CoD or that sniper game I can never remember the name of, counterstrike? But for me it was Perfect Dark.
Mario games. I know it’s a bit of a cheat to throw Mario games in as a whole but Mario Kart, Mario Party and just good old fashion Super Mario Bros are all awesome time killing games that don’t require a ton of focus to play but do need a lot of focus to be great at. Great for any age or any time, I played mario was I was 10 trying to have fun and mario party when I was 25 and we all had to drink before every turn. Classic and you can go back to them any time.
LASTLY- My favorite series of games of all time. Grand Theft Auto. By far the biggest and best time killing fun as shit games you can play. Some missions take HOURS to complete, I haven’t played every GTA game but each one I have played has at least one mission that is HARD AS FUCK. On top of being challenging, if you get sick of trying hard the game has cheat codes like starcraft that make it amazing. Hack your self into a bazooka and go try to fuck up some cops, you can kill an hour doing that easy. Cheat your way to a tank and see what happens when you drive a tank to an airport. Fly a plane for 20 minutes, literally anything. Also like the tony hawk games a lot of the music in GTA is good. You have to get into a car and actually select the radio station you want but you can find one you like. Cinco cinco cinco nueve dos nueve dos. Those who know, know. Now even newer versions have MULTIPLAYER, which just adds another level to the gameplay.
HONERABLE Mentions-
Super Smash Bros. I thought about putting this in to the mario category or replacing the mario category with it all together. Super smash bros should be on the list but just missed it.
Sports games. My favorite was NFL blitz, some folks like fifa and some like maden. All great time wasters but get old after a minute.
Racing games- I never got into racing outside of mario kart so if you like racing games this isn’t the list for you.
