Sports Patrick’s Day
Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone, all y’all who seen the leprechaun say yeaaaaaaa. We were 4–5 last night bringing us to a clean 240–230, but we were so close to being better. Ross got his soccer game spot on, Sarah almost had another double winner again in the NHL and Jacob was SO close to getting the NBA overs/unders correct, he was 1 point away on one of them and .5 points away on the other, it doesn’t get much closer than that. Andy’s pick on the other hand turned out how I feared it would, he let 1 little loss change how he picked his favorite team and now I think he’s on a losing road that he’ll never recover from, I mean how do you get back on the good side now? If you just start taking the bruins over and over your mojo might rub off them and make them worse, the world hates a flip flopper Andy, politics taught me that. College basketball is finally back tomorrow and ill probably just put up my bracket so everyone can make fun of how wrong it is, I think that’s where I landed for march madness, maybe ill get Devin to do it too, we’ll see. Today though! Today we have a fun little thing, we are perfectly even on our over/under picks which I don’t think has ever happened, we have 1 person calling for a push, 2 overs and 2 unders so lets get into it.
Chelsea +140 vs Atletico +240 Draw +220 o/u 2 — Ross’s favorite soccer team is Chelsea and they are up 1–0 on aggregate but Ross thinks they may lose today. Because Ross doesn’t want to admit that to the public, he has decided to go with DRAW at +220 and he said to take push at 2 goals but im going to leave that off. We are just taking the DRAW bet and hoping for the best, I think you could get 2.5 goals at -120ish so if you want to take the under on that go for it, but im just cheering for a DRAW because i like writing DRAW in all caps. I didn’t even look at what odds you could get on exactly 2 goals being scored but if that’s a thing in soccer and it gives good odds, go for it, that’s a thing we should look into because its pretty interesting, can we get crazy odds on picking the exact number of goals?
Canadiens -115 vs Jets +100 o/u 5.5 — Sarah is back for more NHL, she split her game last night but picked an even odds winner so id say she is still on a pretty hot streak. Today she decided to go with the Canadiens because they invented the sport, and the under because even though they invented it they arent as good at it as America. Fuck Yeah Sarah, MERCA! Getting all patriotic when picking from foreign sports teams gets me misty eyed and hard at the same time, I should probably see a doctor. You see that foreign correspondent Brad, maybe inject some patriotism into those picks!
Flyers -130 vs Rangers +110 o/u 6 — Rafi is here for this one and has selected the Flyers with the over. I assumed it would be something about the flyers flying over the competition but Rafi went more St Paddys day with it. Rafi says the flyers have a real redheaded leprechaun on their team so they’re definitely going to win, then he said some stuff about leprechauns or crack heads, which I assume is from the “all y’all who seen the leprechaun say yeaaaaaaaa” video, at least I think it is, but anyway for some reason that also meant take the over. Flyers OVER 6.
Celtics vs Cavaliers +9 o/u 217.5 — Fantasy Basketball champion Miller is back for a Celtics pick because Jacob and I cant get right with the Cs. The fourth quarter of last nights game and the overall lack of free throws were quite frustrating as a Celtics fan, plus the Jazz just would NOT miss a 3 and that has to change. I know they have 6 guys shooting over 35% from three which is fine, but 2 of them are over 45% which just has to change due to the law averages, Curry doesn’t shoot 45% from three for fucks sake. Anyway tonight Miller is on the Cavs + 9 and the under 217.5. He think the Cs will win but not by 9 which I agree with, and he thinks the under will hit which I have no idea about. Go CELTICS!
Hornets vs Nuggets -6.5 o/u 229.5 — I gave the Celtics south (Hornets)game to Jacob because he is my Celtic South rep. Jacob also loves the Nuggets though and decided to go with the Nuggets -6.5 and OVER 229.5. Both teams run a good offense so im fine with the over and the Nuggets have been on a roll since Porter Jr came back, also even though he is getting old Will Barton is on his annual tear through the NBA. I swear to go once a year for like a month Barton is borderline an all star caliber player, I mean he always has all the pieces but once a year for 1 month he is healthy and just puts it all together and looks amazing. Nuggets -6.5 over 229.5, but we are all rooting for Celtics South obviously.
